Lighting Design Engineer / Project Manager — Metro New York City Office
Position is responsible for both the engineering design and project management of commercial/Industrial energy services projects within the tri-state area. Typical projects will encompass lighting energy conservation measures, such as lighting energy management systems, lighting occupancy controls, T-8/T-5 retrofits and HID fixture replacements.
Key Responsibilities
Energy Engineering
- Work side by side with SmartWatt sales engineers in design specification of energy projects
- On-site energy auditing
- On-site energy data logging
- Energy modeling in customized computer software
- Detailed engineering analysis including baseline profiles, end-use analysis, and retrofit analysis
- Prepare project technical write-ups and detailed project costing
- Build projects to maximize utility and NYSERDA energy-efficiency incentives
- Build projects to maximize EPAct tax incentives
Project Management
- Responsible for seamless installation of all energy conservation measures.
- Primary liaison between installation crew and customer personnel.
- Responsible for making sure project comes in on time, within budget and meets the customer expectations.
- Responsible for all measurement and verification activities.
- Handle all utility and NYSERDA procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in energy services industry or related engineering/project management experience
- Excellent oral, written, computer communication and presentation skills required
- Valid drivers license issued by state of residence and in good standing
- Travel required with employee’s automobile
- Must live in tri-state area
